We're heading in to the last full week of #PlasticFreeJuly, and hope that you have found this challenge to be inspiring. With all of the travel and activities of the month, I find July to be a particularly difficult time of year to avoid single-use plastics... but it can be done, and hopefully we have made it a little easier for you to make at least one switch this month. After all, as Bea Johnson (Zero Waste advocate extraordinaire) says, "We don't need a handful of people doing Zero Waste perfectly, we need millions doing it imperfectly." I take comfort in that when I make a choice that I know isn't ideal, because I know that I'm doing the best I can to manage a family, a small business, my sanity, our environmental footprint, and life in general. We don't have to be perfect - we just have to do our best with what we've got on our plates.
New Products
We've been busy exploring and discovering this summer, and are happy to introduce some new products!
For back-to-school, To-Go Ware's small stainless steel snack container is great for lunch boxes. It holds 0.5 cup, versus 1 cup for the large snack container. Mix and match to pack snack and lunch items in a fun way!
For inspiration, pick up a copy of 101 Ways to Go Zero Waste by Kathryn Kellogg. This book is an easy-to-read guide to help you consider alternatives to plastic and it was attending one of Kathryn's workshops that even pushed me to open this store!
For kids, we have gotten the Kids Strawberry Banana Toothpaste back in stock. These went fast before, so get them before they sell out again! (And we won't judge if you order it for you.)
Stay tuned next week for some Patch plastic-free bandages! With 2 little boys, I was thrilled to find these gems and even more excited when they stood up to the test. They're in transit right now, and should arrive in the next week.
