CoffeeSock Cold Brew DIY Nut Milk Filter (64 oz.)

Regular price $13.00

Making your own nutmilk is so easy, anyone can do it!  And with the recipe below, we can say goodbye to those nonrecyclable cartons.

CoffeeSock NutMilk filters are durable and may last a year or more. They're alternative to paper filters and nylon sacks and are made with Certified Organic Cotton. Cotton imparts no flavor on the finished brew unlike paper. Cotton is 90% cellulose, which is a tasteless and odorless compound that is insoluble in water. (Wood is 40-50% while Hemp is approximately 45% cellulose.) CoffeeSock filters are made in Austin, Texas. All filters are sewn and packaged by happy human beings making a fair and living wage.  These bags are perfectly sized for 64 oz (half gallon) mason jars.

To make almond milk:

Soak 1 cup raw almonds overnight in water (or at least 6 hours).
In the morning, add 5 cups fresh water to the blender. Add almonds, blend on high until smooth.  (Optionally, flavor with 4-8 medjool dates, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and/or 1/4 t salt)
Strain through nutmilk filter bag into large jar or bottle, and wring out the pulp. Pour into 64 oz container. Keep refrigerated.

The Best Part?  The pulp from this almond milk can then be stored and used in baked goods!
